WalMart is planning to host a Super Bowl in 2018, as part of its partnership with the NFL, according to the retailer’s website.
The store, which opened in 2006, will host the game on Jan. 6, 2019, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
The game will be the first Super Bowl held in New York City, the company said.
WalMart said the game will feature a number of popular teams from the NFL and other sports, including the Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks.
Wal-Mart’s partnership with NFL has been widely expected, as the NFL’s owners and owners’ committees were meeting in Atlanta for the league’s annual meeting in February.
